Promised Land- A Common Archive, 2007-

Twenty five archival boxes, white gloves, assorted light boxes and signs.

A collection of slides in archive boxes are found in a rubbish heap on a Jerusalem Street. The slides all depict familiar tourist spots and idyllic landscapes of Israel Palestine dating back to the late 1960s and early 1970s. The collection of slides was made and sold by a Palestinian family owned business. It seems that the family has emigrated to the U.S and the business no longer operates. After all demand for touristic slides has declined and many Palestinian families choose to leave the city. The collection is catalogued and represented in various ways mainly as actions inviting participation and in one case so far as an installation.
